From time-to-time I find myself in a position where I have an idea for a product. Some of these I have progressed from being in my head, to a design on paper and then to a finished solution. A few of these are listed below.
Digital Photo Frame (DigiFrame)
Developing my interest in photography, I rapidly found myself with a huge pile of photographs that I wanted to display (plus a fairly substantial pile of duds, but we won't talk about that!). My problem is that, until Alan Dedicote calls my numbers on the Saturday night draw, I am unable to afford a house with sufficient wall space to display all those I would like. The solution... the Digital Photo Frame. Now this is not a new idea, and I'd be surprised if my implementation was unique, but here it is and how it came about.
Photographic Beanbag Support
Finding a firm support for a camera where a tripod dare-not-tread can be fairly tricky. The beanbag is an obvious answer, but none of the beanbags I could find commercially had the flexibilty I desired. My mother, Joy, is very accomplished with a needle & thread and came to the rescue.
FotoCentre™
Following my Spring 2004 trip to Kenya, I found a number of difficulties with using a Digital SLR camera in more remote locations. Having returned to the UK, and more trips in the pipeline, I decided to set about trying to devise a 'solution'. The result is described here.
