tour reports

In my quest for finding good photographic opportunities I often go on photographic tours to other countries.  Details of some of my past photographic expeditions are listed below.  Follow the hyperlinks for further details.

Information regarding some of my forthcoming tours can be found here.

Masai Mara, Kenya - January 2006
My third trip to the Masai Mara in Kenya was not a let-down.  Returning to the fantastic Kicheché Mara Camp, I spent just over a week in the 'Mara with friend and fellow photographer Peter Hale.

Scottish Highlands - November 2005
This was my second trip to the Scottish Highlands with professional, and widely respected, photographer Neil McIntyre.  This trip had an awful lot to live up-to, with the previous being so good.  I am glad to say it didn't let me down, and I had a fantastic time!

Martinselkosen Eräkeskus, Finland - June 2005
This trip to Finland in June 2005, was my first.  The main purpose of the trip was to attempt to photograph European Brown Bear.  Although perhaps not my most successful trip photographically, it was extremely enjoyable and I learnt a great deal from pro photographer Andy Rouse.

Tanzania - January 2005
Late January/Early February 2005 brought my first trip to Tanzania.  The trip took in Lake Manyara, the Ngorongoro Crater and the Serengeti National Park.  The trip was organised with Safari Consultants, and I was accompanied by fellow photography enthusiast Peter Hale.

Scottish Highlands - October 2004
Mid-October 2004 I had the pleasure of attending a two day photographic workshop with professional, and widely respected, photographer Neil McIntyre.  It was an amazing, and eye-opening, experience featuring Red Squirrel, Wild Mountain Hare, Red Deer and Wild Mountain Goats.

Masai Mara, Kenya - September 2004
The Masai Mara is an amazing place to see big cats and other African wildlife.  One of the best times to go is during the Great Migration where in the order of 2 million Wildebeest, Zebra and other animals make their way from the Serengeti to the 'Mara.  On this tour I was lucky enough to see several 'river crossings' and some beautiful sights.

Skomer - July 2004
July 2004 saw my first trip to the island of Skomer, off the tip of the Pembrokeshire coast.  This island is inhabited by many thousands of birds and very few people.  Accommodation was "basic", but the trip offered fantastic opportunities.

Masai Mara, Kenya - January/February 2004
Early 2004 saw my first trip to Africa - more specifically to the heart of the Masai Mara in Kenya.  This 9-day trip was organised by Safari Consultants in conjunction with Wild Arena.   The tour provided some truly awsome experiences and was based at the beautiful Kicheche Mara Camp on the outskirts of the Mara.
